All Manganese plates are designed in such a way that they become more resistant as force is applied to drill them. In the past, these plates were fastened to the door skin using an external studded protection plate located just in front of the vehicle’s latch.
Our research shows that thieves are now trying to get around this by cutting the plate and taking the internal manganese protection off entirely.
LatchSafe is designed to remove this weakness. Instead of attaching to the door skin, it mounts to the latch mechanism itself and prevents thieves from cutting around the protection plate while still offering the proven strength and drill-resistance of manganese steel.
Not yet, but we're rolling them out for more and more vehicles all the time, so keep an eye out! If you want to see availability for your current vehicle, please contact us.
No. The LatchSafe is fitted to the inside of the door independently to the door skin, meaning nothing is visible on the outside.
Yes, the Latchsafe does not interfere with the locking/unlocking of your vehicle.
Depending on the vehicle brand and fitter experience, the LatchSafe can take anywhere between 30 minutes to 1 hour.
There is minimal drilling involved for a large majority of Latchsafe installations.
