Will this void my vehicle's manufacturer warranty?
Absolutely not. Unlike electronic immobiliser bypass cuts, this is a completely mechanical barrier. It locks directly over the plug socket structure without splicing wires, altering electronics, or modifying any factory components.
Does it fit my specific car model?
Yes. By law, every passenger vehicle sold in the UK uses an identical, standardised universal OBD-II plug layout. Our protector is precisely cast to lock cleanly onto this universal specification.
What happens when my car goes in for an annual service or MOT?
Just like your car's locking wheel nuts, your protector comes with a dedicated high-security key. Simply leave the key inside your glove box or on your keyring for the mechanic to unlock it for diagnostics, and pop it back on when you pick up the vehicle.
How long does it take to fit?
Around 5 minutes, with no special tools needed. The protector clamps over your vehicle's OBD port and locks in place with a security screw that can only be removed with your unique key.
Does it work on vans as well as cars?
Yes – vans are where we started. The protector fits any van with a standard OBD-II (EOBD) diagnostic port, which has been required on new light commercial vehicles since 2002 for petrol and 2007 for diesel models. That covers virtually every van on the road today, from small car-derived vans to the Transit, Sprinter and Crafter.
